When: December 14-22, Thursday-Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sundays and Saturday the
22th, 3 p.m. What: Adapted for the stage by playwright Evelina Fernandez from
the mid-sixteenth century text "The Nican Mopohua," this play relates
the story of how the Virgin Mary appeared to the peasant Juan Diego on four
occasions in the mountains of Tepeyac near Mexico City
in 1531. Presented annually by
the Latino Theater Company with actor Sal López as Juan Diego and opera singer
